Before you pack

— DesertX runs tube-type spoked wheels; Multistrada and the road bikes are tubeless — pack the matching tire kit.
— Single-sided swingarm models need a big rear axle socket that no generic kit includes.
— Belt-driven cams on older air-cooled models: know the service interval before a long trip, it isn't a roadside job.

European bikes (and Harley's T27) use Torx everywhere from bodywork to brake discs; a hex key will chew the head.
